Zen Cafe
Zen Cafe is a 1,200 sq ft space tucked into a lane off Kala Ghoda, designed as a place to step away from the city without feeling removed from it. The brief was to create an interior that feels distinctive, functional, and instantly welcoming, equally suited to a quick coffee or a few hours of work.
The design blends an industrial framework with mid-century references and an earthy material palette. Exposed elements like metal staircases and beams are balanced with warm wood detailing. A neutral base of greys is layered with muted greens, while large plants are integrated throughout to soften hard edges and add texture, scale, and warmth.
The result is a cohesive, recognisable space, and this design language was later adapted across two additional Zen Cafe locations. Modern, layered, and made for long lunches, quick meetings, and slow afternoons.
